Antonia Liskova

Hi, I am Antonia and I would like to share with you my dedication to the fight against breast cancer. It all started with the short movie focused on metastatic breast cancer ‘La Notte Prima’ by Anna Maria Liguori, a project that touched me deeply. In the short I act as Alessandra, a determined and ambitious young woman who divides her time between her professional career and the planning of her wedding.
However, an unexpected diagnosis suddenly turns her life upside down and forces her to reconsider her fundamental choices. This is an introspective and resilient story that show us how, even in the darkest moments of our lives, we can find the strength to carry on. This short movie had its international premiere at the 75th Venice International Film Festival and won awards at several national film festivals, including the ‘Women for Women Against Violence - Camomilla Award’.

‘La Notte Prima’ (The Night Before), inspired by the short story “Io scelgo di vedermi meravigliosa” (I Choose to See Myself Gorgeous), and freely adapted from one of the stories of patients with metastatic breast cancer collected as part of "Voltati, Guarda, Ascolta, Le donne con il tumore al seno metastatico" (Turn, Look, Listen, Women with Metastatic Breast Cancer), a campaign promoted by Pfizer under the patronage of the AIOM Foundation, the Italian Medical Oncology Association, in collaboration with Europa Donna Italia and Susan G. Komen in Italy. This short film, through the language of cinema, aims to break the wall of silence that surrounds this disease and the women who are affected by, bringing to the attention of the mass their feelings, their emotions, the everyday life they feel and live.
