Francesco Montanari

Hi, I’m Francesco. Through my work in cinema and theater, I strive to shed light on stories that can raise public awareness about these crucial issues: violence against women and breast cancer prevention.
One of the projects I care deeply about is "La Notte Prima" (The Night Before) by Annamaria Liguori, a short movie about metastatic breast cancer that explores the condition of those who live with it and their loved ones. It is freely inspired by the story of Alessandra, selected from testimonials collected as part of the campaign "Girati, Guarda, Ascolta. Le donne con il tumore al seno metastatico" (Turn Around. Look. Listen. Women with Metastatic Breast Cancer).

Additionally, I had the honor of working with Matilde Gioli on the short film "Anemos", centered on the theme of violence against women. It is based on the
true story of Alice Casarotti, founder of the "Il Bosco di Alice Association" and the "La Casa dei Cavalli" stables in Rignano Flaminio. After enduring years of abuse and violence, she redirected her life and found salvation and rebirth through horses.
This project gave me the opportunity to use my art to raise awareness of important issues and promote the cultural change needed to eradicate gender-based violence.
Through my commitment, I hope to contribute to creating a world where women can live free from violence and fear, and where prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer are a reality for everyone.
