I've always believed that if I could do something to help people, I would do it without hesitation.
When I discovered how devastating breast cancer is, I couldn't remain silent. It's a battle that affects so many women, and if I can do my part to raise more awareness, it's my duty. I approached this cause with an open heart, trying to use my visibility to educate women about the importance of prevention. Every year, a breast cancer diagnosis hits many women like a blow to the heart, but how we face this reality can make a difference. And when I was asked to become the testimonial for the "Race for the Cure", I had no doubts because it's not just a race, but a moment of great symbolic value, an opportunity to show our support to all the women fighting breast cancer. It's a cause that is particularly close to my heart, because I deeply believe in the power of prevention, the power of solidarity, and the importance of never feeling alone in such a difficult time. Every year, seeing thousands of people, women and men, participate in this race is an emotional and meaningful experience. The "Race for the Cure" is not just a physical challenge, but a manifestation of hope, a way to give visibility to all the stories of those who have fought, are fighting, or unfortunately lost the battle. And this, for me, is fundamental: to give voice to those who need to be heard, to make them understand that we are here and that we can do something.
In parallel, the issue of violence against women is a topic that deeply touches me. It's unacceptable that in our world there are still women living in fear. I've worked with various organizations to raise public awareness and to support those who have suffered violence. Through campaigns and testimonies, I've tried to give a face to these stories and to break the silence that often surrounds these issues. From my experience, a book of denunciation was born, "Vite senza paure" (Lives Without Fear), which contains a message of hope: we must not surrender to violence, and I founded the association of the same name that is dedicated to supporting women victims of violence through various services, including medical, psychosocial, and legal assistance, and is also committed to awareness and training, presenting legislative proposals and signing memoranda of understanding with other organizations involved in the cause.
Together we can make a difference. Every step counts, every voice is important. Remember, we are not alone in this fight.
